He Saw It Was Good: Bible Study info by Ellie Butcher of MAF

MAF have a new set of free Bible studies that align with the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and with the work MAF does in aid relief and development worldwide.

In the beginning, when God made the earth, He saw it was good – so let’s work together to save it.

In 2015, the United Nations (UN) established a plan to improve people’s quality of life, abolish poverty and protect the planet. The UN plan, known as the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, has 17 goals, each of which fits into five main pillars: People, Prosperity, Planet, Peace, and Partnership.

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is a Christian organisation which uses light aircraft to enable some 1,400 organisations to provide medical aid, emergency relief and long-term development worldwide.

We use technology and planes because, for many isolated people groups, it’s the only way they can be reached. And we do so because we believe that nothing should stand in the way of people hearing the gospel and receiving the essentials of life.

MAF wants to see isolated people changed by the love of Christ, with many of our values aligning with the sustainable development goals set by the UN – no poverty, zero hunger, quality education, good health and wellbeing.

To help achieve this, MAF has created an inspirational series of Bible studies which introduce you to the topic of sustainable development.

During this six-session Bible study you’ll have the chance to understand the issues the planet is facing, see how the Bible points towards a solution and challenge yourself to consider how you can live more sustainably.

Through devotions, videos, stories, Bible readings, discussion points and times of prayer and reflection, you’ll explore what the Bible teaches us about sustainability and discover the devastating impact human life is having on God’s earth.
